Try changing the cap out with the one you have - yes, definitely worth a try

I have some ceramic trimmers but I think my 'low C' ones are 2 to 11 pF.  I'll spend some quality time in the basement looking this afternoon.

I have one of these dummy load/wattmeters.
The wattmeter is WAY off as far as accuracy.
I decided to go through the alignment.
What supposed to be a deep null in the balanced bridge
circuit, when adjusting a ceramic trimmer cap...is just a slight
    null.
Floating around in the cabinet, I found a half moon shaped oval
    piece of
something. It seems to be a broken off piece of the wiper half of
    the
trimmer cap!
So...putting two and two together, I suspect the trimmer cap!!!
    (Rocket Science!)
It is a 3 lead 2 - 18.5 pF ceramic trimmer.
The closest I can find is 5 - 30 pF
As a group....before I spend the cash, and gut the thing....Do you
think that is enough in the ballpark that it will work??
OR...

Anyone have a 2 -18.5 ceramic trimmer?

Thanks for spinning your wheels on this.

Happy Holidays!
