[Heath] heath items for sale .

The B-1 balun was rated at 200-watts AM which means that they should be able to handle 800-watts SSB or CW.  However, Heath was always overrating things and I would not be comfortable running more than about 500-watts peak output through one.

Yea ... same here.   I have TWO of the plain old BALUN units that I got for about 5 to 10 dollars each.
I first saw them at my Elmer's home.   He had two of them mounted on the side of his house to feed two dipoles
with 300 ohn TV twinlead.  He had a DX 100 and an HQ 180 in the shack.  I always wanted to duplicate his
shack, including the BALUNs and finally have been able to.   HI HI.   I just wish the BALUN would handle more than
about 150 watts.
