Weld-On #3 is a clear, water-thin, very fast setting solvent cement for acrylic plastics, such as Plexiglas or polycarbonates like Lexan. Used with a syringe it is the answer to hairline crack repairs, like SB- series dial's infamous 15 kc crack. It will wick down the crack and make a nearly invisible repair if you do not use too much.
Weld-On #16 is a medium body, slower setting cement that makes high stronger bonds. Would be worth a try on couplers or where a little clouding does not matter.
They also make a #45 which is used and approved for aircraft windshield repairs, which is how I became familiar with the product line.
Amazon has the stuff if you can't find it locally. If you know any aircraft mechanics, one of them might have some on hand.

Hi Sandy
These couplers are usually over-tightened and they are not flexible so the strains on them over the years will cause fractures. If you can get any acrylic pr Perspex rod of the correct outer diameter and know someone with a small model makers lathe they are very easy to make. A small metal bush tightly fitted over each end with a clearance hole for the grub screw would significantly improve the strength.
You may be able to repair your broken one if you can get any acrylic glue. That is easily available in the UK made by Revell but following an enquiry of mine, the manufacturer's US distributor confirmed that they do not import it into the States and our post office will not accept it in the post. Anyone visiting the UK may be able to take a 25g tube back with them in their hold luggage?

Hi, folks,
Darn it, just had to happen...the plastic shaft coupler for the Tune control on my SB-102 is shot. I need another one that isn't cracked or broken around the setscrew threads. Does anyone on the List have one I could buy? Don't need the setscrews (I saved the old ones, HI) but don't mind if they're there!
Thanks, guys! 73,
