[Heath] DX-60A Grid Tune Issue

Well, another ham informed me that the L1 adjustment instructions are on in
the DX-60B manual page 36 paragraphs 1 and 2 left side of page. Sure enough
it is also in the DX-60A manual. I am not sure how I missed it, but maybe
it's time for my set of 'bionic" eyes ;^) Thanks again, Bob K5MBA

Thank you so much everyone,

Another Heathkit responder recommended I adjust the L1 coil to approximately
3/8 inch from the top of the coil. I did that first and boom, I was able to
get more than enough grid mA on all bands.

I am surprised the individual who sold me this rig said he it was working
after he replaced all of the electrolytic capacitors and 10 out of spec
resistors. Not sure how it could work because the L1 coils was about 3/4
inch above the top of the coil.

I went ahead and attached the scope as recommended and it also peaked around
3/8 inch from the top of the coil. I wonder why Heathkit never discussed
this adjustment in the manual? In any case, I am a happy CW operator now.

Thank you so much for everyone's advise and input. Hopefully I can return
the favor someday!

73's

I am 73-years old. However, with "bionic" eyes (plastic lenses being
installed with cataract surgery) I was able to see the "."! :>)

Ah! Thank you, Glen. I missed that And that is why when I wish to e-mail
such info, I always
write it as "0.5" not simply ".5" as an example.

In which case, he can completely dismiss anything I told him, except how to
peak L-1.

Same here.

Yes. That is my experience too.

Well, I missed it. After all, I am within only a few days of my 75th
birthday, and my eyesight is
getting worse.
