As others have noted, there is a good chance that your metering resistors have changed value.


However, I would also measure the AC mains voltage at the unit.  That is, measure the voltage after the line cord, etc.  Your line voltage may well be below what you think it is.


My SB-200 runs right at 2450 volts in standby and my line voltage, as checked a few minutes ago, running at 252 VAC.  The electric company, around here runs, on average, over 125 / 250 VAC generally between 126 / 252 VAC and 127 / 254 VAC.  It has been this way since the 1970s.

The cap’s have been replaced many years ago but everything else is stock. My idling HV runs about 1900v’s key down it drops to about 1750V’s. Line voltage to the amp is off a separate 120 v 20amp ckt. Is this voltage normal? Should I be looking for about 2500v’idiling? Would changing the caps to 180mfd and changing the equalizing resistors to a lower value help?   Thanks for your information
