Doug...You found where the problem is...That wire, when removed from C-39,  
going from the + terminal to ground should read infinity.  Start tracing the 
wire from the + terminal of C-39 to the plate of the 6146 final and the plate 
of the 6DE4 modulator...Look for a wire inadvertently grounded or shorted or a 
shorted cap in the tank circuit...Just use the VOM and trace it down...
