Everything else works perfect - and it does sound fine - still.

While it has been...ummmm... 38 years since I worked there, from my remembrance there were indeed factory built / wired 'kits'. I seem to remember being shown that those so assembled had the letter "W" somewhere on the series tag.
I may have even had one of these at some time, but most of my green boxes are gone now.
