I remember seeing SSB suppressed carrier as being what we are today just 
calling SSB. We are to lazy to say the whole thing AND most SSB rigs ARE 
suppressed carrier. There has also been a distinction between suppressed 
carrier and reduced carrier. I can very easily detect the suppressed 
(eliminated) carrier in my shack. Hopefully a few blocks away that has 
faded to nothing at all.

Language and word usage changes all the time. Take a look at the story 
of the tower of Babylon (babel on). In 2018 I think SSB means one 
sideband without carrier. Some people have known it as single sideband 
with carrier (reduced or not). I know that meaning existed at one time 
but right now is not that time.

When I was a child I was happy and gay. I am the same today but no 
longer gay. The word changed, I didn't.
