Hi All
We have a prospective client that is enquiring about the M-series ChSTM-1 to
E1 PIC.According to them , the cisco platforms currently used ... are
12000's and 7500's.
They have an E1 based transmission system and would like to utilise this to
aggregate numerous links into the Routers at the core level.
1. The problem accordin gto the customer :
The Cisco kit can only bundle up to 16 Mb/s.This is done by taking four
4Mb/s pipes [ each consisting of two E1's ] and bundling them together.
2. The requirement:
The client needs to have a much more flexible Bundling mechanism eg. If they
need 24Mb/s , they want to bundle 12 E1's to achieve this .
3. Juniper :
The ChSTM-1 PIC's Nx E1 functionality is dependant on the ML Services PIC.
The ML PIC can have a MAX of 8 E1's per bundle ...adding up to the
Equivalent to Cisco's 16 Mb/s per logical interface.
Can this requirement as stated in point 2 be fulfilled on the M-series
routers . If so , how is this achieved ?
i have tried pre-sales support but the response is quite slow and i need
this info ASAP.
much appreciated
Aman Singh
