I tried this with jinstalls and jbundles and could not reproduce it.
You could ask jtac and see if it's a bug that's already been fixed.
Otherwise, send in a cut-n-paste of:

file list detail /var/tmp
request system software add xxx
file list detail /var/tmp

and we'll track it down.
