[j-nsp] port mirroring question

Can someone clarify whether or not
you can port mirror an interface that 
resides in a routing-instance/vrf?  The
juniper docs state that the interface
to be mirrored cannot particpate in 
"routing activity" which is a pretty 
big generalization.  I've tried putting
the port for which i am sending the mirrored
traffic to into the same routing-instance
but no luck.  Has anyone persued this 
with Juniper or is it just an unfortunte
reality?
