It is standard compact flash media that is at least 128 MB.
"The slot labeled COMPACT FLASH on the front panel of the router
accepts a type I or II compact flash drive, as defined in the CompactFlash
Specification published by the CompactFlash Association."
You have to power down to remove the RE to install the flash, then snapshot,
and then reboot, so yes, it will be disruptive, but you should not loose
anything, however.
