[j-nsp] Force SFMs to stay offline

Is there a way to force an SFM to stay offline (say for example when the
RAM starts to go bad and generate ECC errors for days, or until you send a
tech out to pull the card)? It seems that if you disable it through
"request chassis sfm slot <#> offline", it will automatically turn them
all back on after you commit any config change.
I see a config option under "chassis sfm", which seems like it would be
the place to put a "disable" option, but it doesn't seem to have any
options at all:
# set chassis sfm ?
Possible completions:
<slot> SFM slot number (0..3)
# set chassis sfm 0 ?
Possible completions:
+ apply-groups Groups from which to inherit configuration data
+ apply-groups-except Don't inherit configuration data from these groups
