Actually, there are two commands similar to this; another is 
'interfaces fxp0 disable;' and the '.. link-down ignore'. A number of 
years ago, it was sufficient to administratively disable the fxp0 
interface to remove the alarm.  A year or two ago this changed so that 
you had to also configure the link-down ignore.  A further 
complicating factor was that there were 1 or 2 bugs here.

JTAC has given out recommendation that you shouldn't disable fxp0 even 
if you don't use it for anything as it slightly delays the bootup 
sequence.
