Yes I know this is a halfass joke solution, but you could always fire up
some /sbin/swapon to increase swap with a big file on the hd. :P
In a real memory leak situation swap is a great safety net. The leaked
pages will be inactive and easily swappable, without impacting the active
pages being used by the rest of the system.
