[j-nsp] M40 SCB heap utilization 98%

All,
I have some M40s (not M40e) that are running out of scb memory, the heap
utilization is at 94% + on all my M40s. They are having trouble
adding/deleting routes and building firewall filters due to lack of
resources on the scb. A reload will take care of this for few weeks but I
need a long term solution -or at least something to get me through 2008. As
I can't get budget approval for replacing this gear does anyone have a
suggestion for a hardware upgrade to the scb or configuration change that
could improve resource utilization? I'm running 7.6 daily build and have to
be able to provide a full bgp feed from these routers. I am only running a
couple of minimal firewall filters and have disabled SCU/DCU.

I was hoping for something along the lines of a scb upgrade and had a couple
of questions;

First, how can you tell which scb 2 you have? I believe all of mine are the
8mb version since they show 8Megs for the show jtree 0 memory output? Is
that the correct way to determine if it's an 8M or 16M scb?

Second, is there an scb with more than 64M of cpu dram or is it possible to
upgrade the memory on the scb to 128M? Possibly something similar to the
128 ssb upgrade on juniper.cluepon.net?

I'm opening a tac case with Juniper to see what they can tell me but I'm
thinking the scb IIv1's I have could be upgraded to scb-16 but that this
would still only have 64M of cpu dram, which is what I'm running low on.

Thanks in advance for suggestions/pointers/help.

Happy Holidays!

sean
