You could always call JTAC and ask; they worst they can say is no.
Which is probably what they will say if the router has no warranty or
active service contract, but you never know until you ask.

For what it's worth, Juniper maintenance contracts (at least for us)
seem to be far cheaper than Cisco for comparable hardware, so you
might want to investigate purchasing one.  The total capital outlay
may be less than you think.
