Hi all

I have installed version 9.0R2.10 in an M7i with 256Mb of Compact flash.
With a roouting engine 400 with 768Mb of ram and this is working fine

The release notes Is not clear regarding this point:

RAM requirement increased (M-series, MX-series, and T-series routing
platforms)-The compact flash disk memory requirement for JUNOS software
Release 9.0 is 1 GB. For M7i and M10i routing platforms with only 256 MB
memory, see the Customer Support Center JTAC Technical Bulletin
PSN-2007-10-001
https://www.juniper.net/alerts/viewalert.jsp?txtAlertNumber=PSN-2007-10-001&actionBtn=Search.
[Installation and Upgrade]

It's talking about Ram and flash at the same time and this is not clear.
The Alert-bulletin is realy saying that we need to have 512Mb of RAM:

PSN Issue : The RE-400-256 Routing Engine contains only 256MB of main memory. Beginning with JUNOS release 9.0, this is insufficient to run JUNOS software; the minimum supported main memory configuration for JUNOS 9.0 and above is 512MB

For information here are the traces from my chassis:

You can use 'show system storage' and look for the /dev/ad0* device.
Juniper indicates that 9.0+ requires a 1GB CF (though I'd be interested to hear if someone has tried it on a 256MB card just for kicks).
