Hi Team,
I have an issue with ARP learning in my network setup. Following is the topology for reference.
MX80----EX4200(VC)----HP switches----servers
HP switches are pure L2 and only have L2 VLANs configured on them.
EX4200 have 4 switches connected together as a virtual chassis (VC). It has a static route pointing to MX80. (0.0.0.0/0 to MX80)
MX80 is connected to ISP.
All the servers connected to HP switches have multiple IP configured on the interfaces. and let suppose mac of the server is aa:aa:aa:aa:aa:aa
eg:- eth0-192.168.1.1 - Primary
eth0 - 192.168.1.2 - secondary
eth0 - 192.168.1.3 - secondary
eth0 - 192.168.1.4 - secondary
eth0 - 192.168.1.5 - secondary
When I do ping from my external network the IP 192.168.1.1 is pingable, but when I do ping to 192.168.1.2 it is not pinging.
When I do show arp on EX4200 it only shows 192.168.1.1 binded with the MAC aa:aa:aa:aa:aa:aa.
The thing is when I ping the IP 192.168.1.2 from EX4200 and run command 'show arp' then it displays 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.1.2 binded with aa:aa:aa:aa:aa:aa, and after this the IP 192.168.1.2 is pingable from external network.
I want to know why EX4200 is not displaying all the IPs configured on the interface binded with MAC aa:aa:aa:aa:aa:aa. Can anyone help me on this situation or explain me what is happening.
Thanks
Sachin
