Phil already covered this. Just some more history, IOS historically had
three forwarding modes slow path, flow path and fast path. Flow path is
what you're describing but it's not been supported for years.

Also minor thing which has been major show stopper for some. The inline
isn't netflow, it's IPFX. IPFIX is essentially netflowv9, it's hard to find
collector which does netflowv9 but not IPFIX. But it's easy to find
collector which does netflowv6 but not IPFIX. So some people have been been
disappointed to notice they cannot use the export on their systems.
Of course IPFIX was the correct choice from JNPR, and I seriously hope they
don't cave in and waste development hours on v9 and v5 especially. They
have much more pressing things they need to do.
