Your e-mail is all chopped up, we use IRB's like this;

* interface:

    vlan-tagging;
    encapsulation flexible-ethernet-services;
    unit 500 {
        encapsulation vlan-bridge;
        vlan-id 500;
    }
}

* bridge-domain:
vlan500 { ** (this is only a name)
    domain-type bridge;
    vlan-id 500;
    interface xe-0/0/1.500;
    routing-interface irb.500;
}

* irb:
irb {
    unit 500 {
        bandwidth 10g;
        family inet {
            address x.x.x.225/27;
        }
    }
}
