Interesting. We also encountered some "incompatibilities" with
third-party optics on EX4550, however, with some differences:
a) these incompatibilities was caused mostly by "color" (DWDM) 10Ge SFP+
(well, some 1ge-lx too).
b) we observed no persistent effect of incompatibility - after changing SFP+
to another "more compatible" (however, still third-party) SFP/SFP+ port works
just fine without reboot.
