Yes to both. I am running a pair of these on VMWare hosts (using the
15.1 "unified package" image).

There are a couple of things I have come across. First the VM's have a
constantly crashing and core dumping process, l2cpd.

As an example of what happens:

Jul 27 15:33:56 vrr1 l2cpd[34141]: stp_enable_modules : Failed to get
stp base mac address. All modules will remain
disabled.

Jul 27 15:33:57 vrr1 jlaunchd: l2cpd-service (PID 34141) terminated by
signal number 6. Core dumped!

Jul 27 15:33:57  vrr1 jpppd: Ppp::~Ppp entered

Jul 27 15:33:58 vrr1 mgd[34587]: UI_CHILD_EXITED: Child exited: PID
34589, status 239, command '/usr/sbin/subinfo'
Jul 27 15:33:58 vrr1 dyn-sess-prof: show_shm_statistics : Command
supported only on BBE. current platform olive : 261
Jul 27 15:33:58 vrr1 dumpd: Core and context for l2cpd saved in
/var/tmp/l2cpd.core-tarball.4.tgz

That happens every minute.

The second issue is you cannot configure the em0 interface. I only need
a single interface on these VM's but I have had to add two interfaces.
The first interface I have just left disconnected so that the real
interface gets bumped to em1 which can be configured.

If you try to configure em0 this happens:

[edit]
me at vrr1# show interfaces em0

[edit]
me at vrr1# set interfaces em0 description test

[edit]
me at vrr1# commit
[edit interfaces]
   'em0'
Interface em0 is not user configurable
error: configuration check-out failed

[edit]
me at vrr1#

I have not tried any of the earlier images and I have not tried to run
this with other virtualisation so YMMV.

Apart from the above issues everything else is working perfect for my
situation.
