Skills: * Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Information
Technology, Computer Science, Data Communications, Telecommunications,
Computer Science, or equivalent educational or professional experience
and/or qualifications with a minimum five years of experience * Five or
more years of previous experience in a supporting a large, diverse,
multiple-location and multiple-technology telecommunications
environments * Expert levels of problem solving and analytical ability
to analyze complex, detailed network structures * Demonstrated hands-on
experience with SIP capable endpoints, Session Border Controllers, and
IP Network Infrastructure design * IP Security experience * Experience
in utilizing network management tools and network diagnostic tools to
help with network troubleshooting, network tuning, and detailed packet
analysis * UNIX Shell, TCL, Expect, or Perl scripting skills * Ability
to work with various people, under extremely stressful conditions *
Ability to communicate with brevity and clarity orally and through
written communication to management and co-workers Must have working
experience with the following: * Acme Packet Session Directors (SBC) *
Cisco SPA210X ATA * IP PBXs * Integrated Access Devices

Description:

The VoIP Systems Engineer position will be responsible for the strategic
architectural analysis, design and top level support of our client's end
user VoIP devices and Session Border Controller (SBC) platforms. This
includes, but may not be exclusive to: technical review and oversight of
IP network/session border controller platforms; analysis and resolution
of escalated troubles/issues from Operations/NOC Support personnel. They
will also provide leadership in development of new services, IP
Network/SBC operational procedures, support tools and utilities. The
VoIP Systems Engineer will be responsible to manage special projects as
necessary. The ideal candidate will be a high personal level of
excellence and the ability to assess situations quickly / understand
business requirements, and use technology to assist in the end-to-end
telephony process. Job Duties and Responsibilities: * Work closely with
other VoIP Systems Engineers on the Architect / Design of VoIP solutions
based upon voice platforms * Work closely with VoIP Systems Engineers
and equipment vendors to design future VoIP Services and provide
strategic and architectural issue resolutions that arise from the VoIP
switching platform * Perform proof of concept planning and documentation
of new or modified voice products * Assist in the development of proof
of concept test plans and document the desired results * Document method
and procedures, work instructions, provisioning guidelines, and
engineering specifications * Interface at the appropriate technical
level to assist with the definition, design, test, and support of VOIP
based services offered over our client's various data networks * Assist
the Operations Team with first office and/or initial customer deployment
* Provide top-level support to the Operations Team and NOC on escalated
technical issues * Be responsible for the development of Next Generation
voice standards and policies * Produce, maintain, and update written
procedures as required.
