Skills: The ideal candidate will have a superior ability to design and
execute QA in an agile development environment with a distributed team.
The candidate will have strong lab management skills, possessing the
ability to configure servers at the hardware and software levels. Solid
communications and project management skills will be required. You must
satisfy required experience and must be passionate about staying current
with the latest test automation tools on the market, as well as
constantly striving to apply the latest in enhancement techniques into
the test automation platforms. Skills/Qualifications: * Bachelor's
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Computer
Science, Data Communications, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or
equivalent educational or professional experience and/or qualifications
with a minimum of 5 years of experience * 3-5 years of experience in
creating and executing test cases to verify voice features in a VoIP
environment * Proficient in network switching and signaling fundamentals
to include: SIP, MGCP, H.248, SS7, and traditional TDM signaling
protocols (i.e. GR303) * Familiarity w/ routing protocols including
OSPF, IGP, RIP, IGRP, and EIGRP * IP Networking: DHCP, DNS, IP address
management, SSH, TELNET, FTP, etc. * Ability to work with various
people, under extremely stressful conditions * Ability to communicate
with brevity and clarity orally and through written communication to
management and co-workers

Description:

The VoIP Systems QA position will be responsible for system testing of
hardware, software, operating system components such as memory
management and scheduling, including system RAS (reliability,
availability, serviceability), crash-recovery testing, error
injection-based testing of software and hardware to generate failures,
performance/scaling tests of hardware, software and storage components.
You will work in a multi-site team of QA engineers, to help drive the
execution of QA strategy and process, and build an enterprise-class
testing infrastructure. The VoIP Systems QA Engineer is a position where
you will be expected to dive into the requirements of the VoIP
engineering and operations teams, and design and develop manual and
automated regression tests to be implemented against the voice platform.
Job Duties and Responsibilities: * VoIP Systems QA Engineering efforts
for all new voice infrastructure including: core VoIP switch, session
border controllers, voice mail, SIP telephone adapters, firewalls and
network switching/routing equipment * Work closely with VoIP engineering
and operations teams to test issue resolutions that arise from the VoIP
switching platform * Perform proof of concept planning and documentation
of new or modified voice products; assist in the development of proof of
concept test plans and document the desired results * Document method
and procedures, work instructions, provisioning guidelines, and
engineering test specifications * Interface at the appropriate technical
level to assist with the definition, design, test, and support of VOIP
based services offered over various data networks * Responsible for the
development of next generation voice testing standards and policies *
Produce, maintain, and update written procedures as required.
