Description:
The Time Warner Cable Corporate office currently seeks a Senior Network Engineer – CDN/Multicast/Video/Caching for our Network Engineering Department. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.


Essential Job Functions:
This new Senior Network Engineering position will be primarily focused on CDN architectures, multicast mechanics, hierarchical video distribution and network based caching methodologies. This staff position will evaluate new technologies and products in order to document the network designs as related to the delivery and distribution of content and video; be responsible for the design of core routing/switching, caching, traffic engineering, load balancing and multicast technologies to support the requirements of the national, regional and metro networks; perform testing to evaluate various network designs, concepts, performance and features of network devices in the lab for integration into a standard network platform.
Senior Network Engineer will document standard network device installation, configuration, and operations guides for delivery to Operations in support of new products and services; supports QA Engineers involved with network test efforts in the areas of documentation and problem resolution; works with engineers in the field to troubleshoot and resolve persistent and escalated issues especially those related to content distribution, video delivery and caching technologies; interacts with the cross functional teams to create and/or review network requirements, functional specifications, and detailed designs; post development, interacts with the operations group to communicate/knowledge transfer product details for deployments.


Job Requirements:
Successful candidate will have at least 7 years of network engineering experience, preferably with a Content Distribution Network Operator, a cable Multiple Service Operator (MSO) or other service provider. Experience with relevant CDN technologies is a must; these include familiarity with multicast/anycast, load balancing, DNS, and caching. Thorough knowledge and experience with traffic engineering, geo redundancy, and capacity analysis is required. Familiarity with layers 4-7 to include server scripting and web acceleration is a plus. Understanding of routing protocols and experience with Quality of Service (QoS), Voice over IP (VoIP) and Multi-protocol Label Switching (MPLS) is desired. The candidate must be a team player, with an inherent ability to work well under tight timelines, and have strong problem-solving capabilities. Will be required to share experience, skill, and talents with associates and serve as a mentor to others. Will be expected to work well with minimal supervision.

Education and Experience:
