[nsp-sec] Thanks for supporting Olympic and Paralympic network security

Dear colleagus,

As the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and Beijing Paralympic Games were
finally closed, our Olympic network safeguarding mission accordingly
came into the end. In the past 2 months, being one of the main network
security protection team, although we were vigilant all the time, we
eventually deeply impressed by the feeling of joy, passion,
friendship, and, the most important thing -- peace.

The peace was not coming from nature. The peace was contributed to all
the colleagues who has devoted themselves to keep threats and attacks
away from Internet. According to the summary of the Beijing Olympic
Game Org Committee and Beijing Paralympic Org Committee, and the
summary of relevant ISPs and information infrastructures, there is
completely ZERO attack that has successfully influenced the normal
running of network and systems.

China has prepared for the events for many years. CNCERT/CC have
played very important role in network and information system
protection. During all the course, we have gained strong supports from
member teams of APCERT, FIRST and many other teams. On behalf of
CNCERT, here I would like to sincerely thank all the teams, especially
to those who share timely data and information, who give us technical
suggestions, who help stop attack source.

Those supports illustrated the spirit of CERT/CISRT community, that
is, trust, union and responsibility. We believe the cooperation within
the community will be better developed in future.

BTW:
Since Sep 21st, 2008, CNCERT/CC will recover into normal duty. That
means we only have hotline (+86 8299 1000) working at off work time.
Except for incident that causes great damage to the public networks or
critical information infrastructures, our incident handling group only
work from 8:00AM--17:00AM (GMT + 8:00) at workdays.
