[outages] AOL instance message login issue

Thanks. We were aware of the 7.5 issue a couple of weeks ago especially regarding compliance issues. We are using 8.0.10.2, and I can’t login myself from my work desktop. I get an immediate “Shoot, something appears to be wrong on our end. Please give us a few minutes and try again” from the AIM client.

What version of AIM are you using?  AOL recently dropped support for AIM 7.5.  See https://help.aol.com/articles/download-latest-aim-version.

They announced a while back that they were dropping support for external IM clients at the end of April. Are you using the AOL branded client, or third party?

This morning, we had a number of people kicked out and since haven't been able to log back in. I've verified the issue exists when routing through both of our upstream ISPs (lightstream & Lightpath). Anyone know anything about what's going on?
