hello,
recently we are having some nasty problems with PPPoE on SE100.
At the beginning there was only one SE100 serving CLIPS and PPPoE.
But, most of PPPoE had been moved to another SE100.
It was before like that:
AC-01 services:
wifi
voip
iptv.leon.pl
Now it is like that:
AC-01 services:
voip
iptv.leon.pl
AC-02 services:
wifi
User logins for WIFI look like
user at wifi
So, now it happens quite offen something like that (client point of view):
> Nov 28 17:09:59 t400s pppd[17271]: No response to 3 echo-requests
> Nov 28 17:09:59 t400s pppd[17271]: Serial link appears to be
disconnected.
> Nov 28 17:09:59 t400s pppd[17271]: Connect time 1546.5 minutes.
> Nov 28 17:09:59 t400s pppd[17271]: Sent 0 bytes, received 154307 bytes.
> Nov 28 17:10:05 t400s pppd[17271]: Connection terminated.
> Nov 28 17:10:06 t400s pppd[17271]: Modem hangup
> Nov 28 17:10:36 t400s pppd[17271]: PPP session is 9947
> Nov 28 17:10:36 t400s pppd[17271]: Connected to 00:30:88:11:33:36 via
> interface eth0
> Nov 28 17:10:36 t400s pppd[17271]: Using interface ppp0
> Nov 28 17:10:36 t400s pppd[17271]: Connect: ppp0 <--> eth0
> Nov 28 17:10:36 t400s pppd[17271]: CHAP authentication failed: CHAP
> authentication failure, unit 253
> Nov 28 17:10:36 t400s pppd[17271]: Connection terminated.
> Nov 28 17:11:07 t400s pppd[17271]: PPP session is 5187
> Nov 28 17:11:07 t400s pppd[17271]: Connected to 00:30:88:11:33:36 via
> interface eth0
> Nov 28 17:11:07 t400s pppd[17271]: Using interface ppp0

> authentication failure, unit 220
> Nov 28 17:11:13 t400s pppd[17271]: Connection terminated.
> Nov 28 17:11:13 t400s pppd[17271]: Modem hangup

> Nov 28 17:11:43 t400s pppd[17271]: CHAP authentication succeeded: CHAP
> authentication success, unit 3511
> Nov 28 17:11:43 t400s pppd[17271]: CHAP authentication succeeded
> Nov 28 17:11:43 t400s pppd[17271]: peer from calling number
> 00:30:88:12:05:AE authorized
> Nov 28 17:11:43 t400s pppd[17271]: local IP address 188.137.91.81
> Nov 28 17:11:43 t400s pppd[17271]: remote IP address 89.200.231.1
first problem is - why client is trying to authenticate with SE100 that
has no wifi service (radius points out that it tries to authenticate in
voip domain !?).
second - if login is user at wifi why SE100 without wifi domain is not
rejecting user immediatelly (i dont know exact mechanism)
third - for about 2 weeks we are havind lot of events like that:
> Nov 28 17:09:59 t400s pppd[17271]: No response to 3 echo-requests
> Nov 28 17:09:59 t400s pppd[17271]: Serial link appears to be
disconnected.
looks like AC-02 has a problem with responses, or - responses somehow
are being lost in transit towards pppoe endpoint
both SE100 have 6.1.2.4
Any hint where to start digging ?
Regards,
Marcin
