Hello Antoine,
The STEC (Simpletec) is typically what Redback uses. Make sure to get the
industrial version as it withstands temperature extremes and
vibration/shock. These can be tough to find in the smaller sizes (i.e.256MB
and 512MB).
The standard CF memory modules (for use in cell phones/cameras) will work as
well. However, they are not intended for telecom use and betting one's
network's uptime on couple hundred dollars might be too risky for most
folks.
We have them for sale in 512MB and 1GB. We also have a bunch of XCR3 modules
(and a couple of XCR4) available if you need spares.
Best regards,
Todd Houser

Hello All,
Can anyone advise as to where I can get OEM Redback/Ericsson XRCP3 compact
flash cards ( Preferably New ) ?
I believe that the XCRP3 came with a Scandisk Extreme III 256MB card and a
Scandisk Extreme III 512MB or 1GB card.
I have found standard 512MB Scandisk CF cards however I was informed that
these do not perform to the same specifications the Extreme III cards do.
Lastly, can anyone confirm the maximum compact flash sizes that can be used
for each of the two internal CF slots.
Please contact off-list.
Regards,
Antonie Falco

In SE100 I have tried 4G Extreme III from SanDisk - works fine.
(BSD card replacement).
We have this setup in 2x SE100 (both cards failed).
So - no worry, use smallest Extreme III card you can find.
Regards,
Marcin

Hello Marcin,
I am of the understanding that the XCRP3 has specific requirements for slot0
and 1.
>From memory it was 256MB for Slot0 and 4GB for Slot1.

Antonie

Hello.
I have run into this strange thing more than once, especially when
configuring or modifying dedicated IP for customers:
The configuration is correct -- "interface", "subscriber", "bind
subscriber" ... all are there, no wrong.
But the customer is still not able to ping the gateway (interface's ip
address configured on BRAS).
Finally, I undo the "bind subscriber"statement and then re-bind it, or
even delete the subscriber and then re-create it.
Not till then can the customer ping gateway.
I don't know where the problem is and why sometimes I must first un-bind and
then re-bind the subscriber.
Is there any detail need to be paid attention to?
Thanks.
