The manual states:

"Some link groups do not support load balancing, such as the access link group. Traffic in an access link group is distributed among the active ports but is not load balanced. Circuits in the link bundle are assigned group IDs and distributed per group ID (not by source and destination address as in load balancing) so that all traffic in the same group goes through the same port."

We have the same situation here between SmartEdge and Access-Switches:

Link-Group: Switch1, ID : 28, State : Up
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ccct count : 4 Grouping : LoadShare
Card Type : ge-10-port Type : access
Bindings : Unbound Minimum-links : 1
Maximum-links : 4
Prot-Group-Type : round-robin
Internal Handle : 255/22:1:29/1/1/69
Description :
Constituent Circuits:
  1. 1/7 (Up )| 0.57%
  2. 1/8 (Up )| 0.05%
  3. 2/7 (Up )| 0.61%
  4. 2/8 (Up )| 6.66%
