Yes, tried the configuration in the documentation but it does not work. I suspect the core needs to support MLDP got it to work.

Have you checked an example provided in the documentation? It is documented in "Configuring IP Multicast" guide.

SmartEdge supports default MDT only and the implementation is based on draft-rosen-vpn-mcast-08.
