     WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 14, 1996--A plan released today by
     Teleport Communications Group (TCG) could help slow the rate at which
     telephone numbers are being used in states from coast to coast. TCG's plan
     would also reduce the need for new area codes thus avoiding the customer
     confusion and costs that often result when new codes are introduced.

I suppose this never got implemented...
