Anecdotal evidence using the built-in Android SIP client (which, while 
hilariously incapable, does support both UDP and TCP for signalling and 
is a readily-available common denominator) suggests that the less 
frequent need to refresh the registration and similar keepalive type 
mechanisms needed for UDP signalling does indeed make TCP noticeably 
better for mobile phone battery life.
