[VoiceOps] SS/CN on SP SIP Trunks

Greetings,

I'm looking for SP in-house BCP, and/or awareness of a SP to SP scoped BCP
(ala SIP Connect) for SS/CN configuration.

We are running POLQA for A/B trunk quality testing against two LD
providers. One trunk was coming back as ‘worse’, and the root cause was
trunk/provider B had SS/CN enabled such that the silent bits of the
reference recording were getting a hiss/Comfort-Noise added. 😊

Now we're in the throws of a healthy debate around the utility and support
for SS/CN on our trunks.

I've historically been of the mindset you disable that stuff - largely due
to dubious implementations causing voice clipping. But I know not to
generalize based on personal experience, and I've seen some vendors have
SS/CN enabled by default.

Thanks in advance for your feedback and perspective on the matter!

BR,

Russ
