Re: [nsp] Frame Relay Congestion management

Rick,

As Bill said, deploying QoS will not reduce the number
of packet drops, it will however allow you to define
what type of packets are dropped.

Waving the magic QoS wand does not create bandwidth.

If you plan you add video, you will need to increase
the size of those pipes. If you are looking to do
VoIP, you will want something like PQ-CBWFQ (LLQ).
That will allow a strict priority for VoIP and then
allow you to use WFQ to keep your other flows from
stomping on each other.

Also, depending on your fanout rate on those T1's,
make sure your broadcast queue is sufficient.

Keep in mind that anything like FRTS will have an
impact on your CPU. FRTS is often useful for the
fragmentation (FRF.11 or FRF.12 don't recall it's been
a while) support which reduces jitter when you have a
slow port speed.

Hope this helps....

Just short answer for the bundles..õÅ;im
with 2 PRI's connected. I've tryed to connect withõÅ;ES
AS's and tryed to negotiated 30 PPP multilinks .....

Gueessss...what happened.......

The Nortel goes awõÅ;..
..eh...It took's around 30 sec of CPU 100% and all traffic (on the secoõÅ;1

So..... I've decide to create an bundle with 8 channels and performance was
better....Mean, that theõÅ;ot

Alex

P.S. Both AS's was connectedõÅ;th
of the 30 channels negotiation, there was a pretty much errors on E1's....

Hi good people,

Does anybody have real-world experince ruõÅ;g

1. BGP support: features and stability, cõÅ;re
2. How many PRI cards will box take, provided *no* digital modems are

3. How good is õÅ;il

4. What is the recommenõÅ;IO

Well, a short search in cisco.cõÅ;matells us that WIC-2T can't (http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/pcat/sewn__y2.htm). NõÅ;urpointed out, the multiport serials aren't supporõÅ;in(with the exception of the ATM), so I'd say that the best would be to get hold of a 3620.

Docs about this issue are confusing. õÅ;in( http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/cc/pd/rt/2600/prodlit/2636m_ds.htm ) you can see the õÅ;ghNMs, so I understand it could be theoretically possible to reacõÅ;ghspeeDs than 2Mbps per port in a WIC-2T or even 8Mbps with a WIC-1T, assuming the card itself is able to deal with this õÅ;d.supported in "old" -legacy- 3600 NMs).

The correct way is as follows:

just do a sh ip bgp sum and look at the column on the right for each peer for totõÅ;ec

sh ip bgp neigh x.x.x.x received-routes sh ip bgp neigh x.x.x.x aõÅ;ti

But an exact number of advertised routes is hard to attain on eBGP. You basically need to check how many it qõÅ;s Other vendors have functionality to check advertised prefixes within the sh ip bgp sum buõÅ;as

This show only routes accepted by your router. If you have some prefõÅ;isshow them.

You have to use sh ip bgp nei [ip] re, but this is sõÅ;rt

Yes, this is known bug with 2FE I/O card. Problem is with private particle buffeõÅ;2pbuffers of that size. When FE runs out of private buffers,õÅ;caany from public pool and as a result you will get ignores and throttles, many of them, and as a result of theõÅ;erDon't try to increase private particle buffers number using "buffers ..." command - it dõÅ;nothere's an interim release to fix that (we've been given this inteõÅ;reI/O card and I'm not happy to play with untesteõÅ;teproduction router). So in general, I have a suspicion that fix will only be available on 12.2 train (at leõÅ;in

Hello...

With 12.1(?)T, õÅ;o (ie. supports "ip address dhcp"). However, the client identifier or hoõÅ;nacisco-mac.mac.mac-fe0/1). My question is, is there any wayõÅ;ovclient-id, and if not, is there any plans to do so? Some DHCP servers provide reservations using the client-õÅ;ns

Hi all,

We are õÅ;g configured access lists in Gigabit interfaces. We have found a limõÅ;iothE TCAM (Ternary Content Addressable Memory) when trying to import a long access list with many conditions.

After iõÅ;asaccess list but we don't know how much available space thereõÅ;fomore access lists or conditions. With the "show sdm size" command you can see the size for each region, but not tõÅ;se

Could you tell me a way to know the number of access lists we can add or the available space?

Can weõÅ;cufollowing condicion: permit tcp any host x.x.x.x eq wwõÅ;ow"1" or a "0"?

Thanks in advance, Sonya Gilly

We have a meridian 1 PABX and it has a QPC536õÅ;Mbconnecting to a DVM-MFT-E1 on a 3810. We are changing the router to a 3662. What would be the appropriateõÅ;d VWIC-MFT-E1 or VWIC-MFT-G.703? What is their difference?

Thanks.
