[cisco-voip] MWI Issue

Hey there,

If I am not mistaken, MWI are sent only at the time the message is left.
The VM system sends the MWI and never "checks" later to see if the phone
received the MWI at all. Not sure how Octel/Avaya system perform MWI, but I
think this is the way Cisco's Unity works. Not tried it though.

Subject: [cisco-voip] MWI Issue

Anyone seen an issue with MWI for unregistered devices in CM 6.1?
Configuration is CM 6.1 connected to Avaya PBX through Qsig trunk and using
Avaya VM for the IP phones. If a VM is left for an unregistered IP
communicator there is no MWI set on the device the next time the user
registers. We tried this with a physical phone also, if a VM is left while
a physical phone is unregistered there is no MWI when it registers again.
If the devices are registered at the time the VM is left then MWI functions
properly.

Thanks,

Scott
