Hmmm. This shouldn't actually improve error statistics, but it will
reduce error detection capabilities, and as such might lead to lower
error *counters*...
We had a "flakey" E3 recently that went up/down/up a couple of times per
day, only being "down" for a few seconds each time. The carrier found
nothing, and the problem went away when we enabled scrambling on the
line, as in:
interface s3/0
scramble
followed by a "clear int s3/0" (otherwise it won't change the hardware
settings). Dunno whether that applies to T3 as well...
