    Hi Doug,
    
    I have seen this effect on 3620s and 3640s with various different SW
    images on various different serial-interface hardware:
    
    In some situations/configurations (also without traffic shaping and with
    standard external clocking) the output byte/packet counters are showing
    up to double the value it's shipping (show interf counters AND SNMP !)
    
    Specifically nice if you are billing your customers based on these
    values ;-(
    
    Never heard about a fix !
