SX-28A Audio Output transformer needed

Looking for Audio Output Transformer for Hallicrafters SX-28A.
One side of center-tapped primary is shorted.
Would like to find a good original from a parts unit if possible.

Peter Dahl has them listed for sale on website.
I guess these are new reproduction units.
Has anyone had any experiences with products from this vendor?

Is this a common problem?  Any particular failures in push-pull audio
of this receiver that cause this sort of failure? (Before I waste a 
replacement transformer).
