Spark plate

Hi there a "spark plate" ia a very rudimentay capacitor, usually a
copper plate, heavy foil cemented to the inside of the case. the dc
power lead connected to the plate on one corner, the lead to the line
switch also to the solder joint. the cement is the dielectric of a this
capacitor. it's purpose to by pass noise spikes to ground that normally
caused trouble in the tube type car radios.. many more things were used
in thosedays. sorry about the long note. jack
