Back about 2-3 years ago, as I recall, there was a 2-part series in
ELECTRIC RADIO dedicated specifically to the restoration of this famous
piece of hardware---if memory serves me well, after having read it, I
recall thinking to myself that this business is much like re-aligning the
cams, etc. in an R-390A tuner!

I suggest you research the pieces in ER first, before getting in too deep
over your head...not that you're unqualified or anything like that---it's
just that "...forewarned is forearmed" Hi Hi. You can NEVER have TOO much
information before emarking on uncharted waters...
