Need opinion on SX-117

That's not necessarily bad ...

The SX-117 is a fine receiver.  The LC filtering in the 50 Khz IF is
equivalent to the SX-115.  It is quiet, sensitive, and sounds good ...
and unlike the 75-Sx's has an AGC which actually works :-)
