I have to agree with you, there is nothing wrong with building it. Using it
is a whole different story. Therefore I also have to agree with Glen that
it must conform to the technical specifications.

I would question whether a rebuild would be necessary. After all, if you

Sounds like one of those illegally produced amplifiers
designed for the Class "D" Citizen's Radio Service or
for freebanders. If so, I would not use it for
amateur service without a major rebuild so that it
conforms to the technical specifications in 47 CFR
Part 97.
