Johnson type radio Genral Question

Hi Phil,
The Viking 1 is a true vintage boatanchor. I suspect that's what you've
got, as the Viking 2 model no. is 240-102, and I can't find a model no. in
the manual, etc., that I have. It could have a 4D32 or an 829B in the
final, about the same output with either, about 100 watts output on AM, or
CW. I have one which I went thru a yr ago and have used it a bit on 160,
75, some on 40m. Last Spring a guy said he'd buy it and gave me a deposit,
but has yet to come get it (or return recent calls). I've started using a
Valiant in it's place.
Definitely worth using, and having the matching VFO is neat, I've had to
use a Heath VF-1 with mine. It'll match a wide range of antennas with it's
Pi-net without a tuner, tho' a tuner would help a bit.
As to value, one in "unknown" condition but looking complete would go
for $75-125 I'd guess, The buyer for mine agreed to $250 for a completely
refurbed one, but I guess I'll be looking for another buyer. (Don't know
what that speaker might be, doens't go with the transmitter.)
I'm not sure if I put a page on my website for it, the server's down at
this moment anyhow, so can't look now. Take a look a bit later.
