Hallicrafters and Collins were both fond of Bristol spline screws. A small
dose of very good penetrating oil and a LOT of patience are particularly
useful with steel setscrews corroded into 50 year old aluminum knobs. The
avionics techs at work are particularly creative in their use of vocabulary
upon discovery of a Bristol spline stripped out by a pilot wielded allen
wrench.
