Contact cleaners

Never spray anything on a rotary switch!  Use  a Q-tip or tape head cleaner 
dipped in whatever solution you decide to use. Use  the cleaner sparingly 
and clean carefully. Any other way of cleaning spells  disaster either 
immediate or down the road. Been there, done that!
