Many thanks to all that responded with ideas, opinions, experience and links to suppliers.

I've found some genuine Belden RG-213U that I think I'll go with. I notice that the supplier says it's good for direct bury. I'm assuming that relates to the outer jacket. Has anyone done that (direct bury) with 213 and if so, how did that work out?   I'm about to put up a ground mounted vertical and direct bury would save me some time and $$$.
