[cisco-bba] gigabit ethernet help

Hi all,

we have a cisco 7200 series router and we want to terminate ADSL layer2 
user on gigabit ethernet.
We have GBIC card in the router and we have 1000Base GBIC SX module.
The network connection is as follows

Telstra IGR(telco australia)-----------single mode 
fibre-------------demarcation point data centre ----------------single 
mode  fibre flat SC connector --------------- 7200 series router 
1000Base SX module

The problem is i can't get the interface up and even if i plug/unplug 
the single fibre optic the router dowsn't seems be reacting by showing 
link up or down.

The lights on the Gigabit interface keep flashing  Tx,Rx,link in 
1,2,3,1,2,3 ---- pattern.

any suggestions or any help is very much appreciated.
