| Hi,

| I have a Cisco 3640 which i just bought from ebay. The router has 12.3
IOS loaded on it.
| I bought a WIC-2T from another person. Now the Wic-2T doesnt seem to be
getting detected by the Router. Show diag gives the following:
|
| NM-2FE2W Port adapter, 2 ports (Could someone explain this and
the next line pls. Is the Module itself at fault?)
| Port adapter is disabled
| Port adapter insertion time unknown
| EEPROM contents at hardware discovery:
| Hardware Revision : 1.0
| Top Assy. Part Number : 800-04797-01
| Board Revision : E0
| Deviation Number : 0-0
| Fab Version : 04

| RMA Number : 0-0-0-0
| RMA History : 00
| EEPROM format version 4
| EEPROM contents (hex):
| 0x00: 04 FF 40 00 D8 41 01 00 C0 46 03 20 00 12 BD 01

| 0x20: 36 32 32 30 4C 4B 51 03 00 81 00 00 00 00 04 00
| 0x30: FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF
|
| What might be the problem? I tried removing and reinserting the card, to
no avail.
| Is the card bad? Could I have the wrong IOS? Will it work with 12.2? I
have 12.3 now, currently. The wic-2t compatability listing does not
explicitly list 12.3, thats why Im asking.
|
| Just want to make sure that it isnt something other than just the card
being a dud.
| Show interface displays the fastethernet0/0 and 0/1 interfaces but not
the serials.
| Thanks in advance.
|

Suspect it is a software issue. From cisco.com I find it is supported in:

Cisco IOS versions 12.0(7)XK, 12.1(1)T, 12.2, 12.2T

when it is installed in the NM-2FE2W network module. Where it is
supported without restriction, it says it is supported in all versions.

I'd try loading a 12.2T image and see if it shows up.
